We humans are wired to admire success. With the unavoidable envy that comes with such admiration and typically some envy. Usually all we see the success or achievement but not the work behind it all. We just know that we too want to be that “lucky”. Take Khloé Kardashian for instance.
Now, we won’t go into her (or her family’s) fame, and whether it is earned or not. What we’ll talk about is her current – at time of this post – weight loss. How she did it, and especially her struggle. Yes, struggle.
You see, Khloé Kardashian has recently lost a tremendous amount of weight. According to reports, she has lost 40 pounds. The accolades keep coming, along with some not-so-nice comments and innuendos.
One might think that Khloé just “has it”. That with virtually no effort, all that weight (read fat) just comes melting away like butter left out in the summer heat. Not so.
Unlike big sister Kim (I like to call her the notorious Kim), who she compares to a Ferrari when it comes to burning fat, Khloé’s metabolism is much slower. She says she is more like a Honda Civic (see our previous post Kim And Khloé Kardashian: Different Approach To Fitness).
Many of us can relate to her story, especially her frustrations about being overweight. Being judged for it. The struggle and pain of trying to lose. Like most of us, it got to her. And it hurt her confidence.
The 32-year-old says that she listened to what people told her she could and couldn’t do for too long. When people told her she couldn’t change her body or the way she looked, she believed them. (Source: Pairade Blog)
And therein lies the very first key to changing anything about yourself. First, you must want to change. And want it bad. And you must believe in yourself. Then roll up your sleeves and go to work. And it doesn’t happen fast and easy. Not even for Khloé Kardashian.
