Lamar Odom LakersNegative news sells. This is why the media has such a voracious appetite for anything negative, particularly celebrity scandals, controversies, gossip and the like. Enter Lamar Odom, ex-NBA star and husband to reality TV star and husband to reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.

Odom was recently found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, three days after he reportedly checked in. I didn’t even know even know that there are live-in brothels out there. Not that I’m particularly interested anyway, even dreaming that I could afford the $75,000 he CNN reports Odom spent there. But I digress.

As of this writing, Odom remains unconscious in hospital and is said to be on life support. Word is that he will likely suffer brain injury.

An herbal sexual performance supplement, being referred to as an herbal Viagra, and cocaine were found in his system. This is a potentially dangerous combination. But the media seems more interested in pointing at the so-called herbal Viagra. Apparently, the people are used to hearing of celebrities abusing – and overdosing on – hard drugs so it is not all that newsy.

Granted, there are certain risks associated with sex performance supplements. Some of these have been recalled after the FDA found that they contained undeclared substances. Here at VitaminsandHealthSupplements.com, we prefer to steer clear of these.

But as to why the media appears to be suggesting that supplements are the cause for Odom’s condition, before the cause is medically established, beats me. Yes, the supplement could turn out to be the cause. So could the cocaine, or combination of the two. Or something else.

According to reports, Odom’s prognosis does not appear good. But we wish him a full recovery as people have been known to get out of seemingly hopeless situations.
