Drinking Water Can Help You Lose Weight

We are bombarded with new diets, tips, and systems for losing fat virtually every day, and most of them do not come cheap. What if there was a way to lose that gut that is cheap and healthy? Apparently, there is according to a recent study. It involves drinking good old-fashioned water.

Good, clean drinking water will not only keep you well-hydrated but may also help cleanse your system and lose fat. Plus, used the right way, drinking water to lose weight might even help to win the often losing a battle with your appetite. So, how does it work?

Well, some appetite suppression, it appears, is involved. However, you work with your body instead of against it. Often, it is the simplest things that work best.

According to the new study published in the journal Obesity, drinking water half an hour before breakfast, lunch and dinner may help with weight loss. The study involved 84 obese adults, over a 12 week period.

41 participants were asked to drink water before about 30 minutes before meal, and 43 were asked to visualize being full before meal. Age, ethnicity, and gender were factored in. At the end of the 12 week period, it was found that participants in the “water” group lost significantly greater weight than the “visualization” group.

While this method may help, the results were rather modest and to see even more significant results one may need to use it with a healthy diet, exercise and even supplements.
